Confidentiality

Patient confidentiality is of the utmost importance in mental health treatment. HIPAA laws require the patient’s permission before sharing any information regarding treatment, even with another health care provider. Exceptions are made only if there is concern for the safety of the patient or if the person is an imminent danger to others.
